King & Moffatt Completes Major Lift at Kettering General Hospital

A landmark moment for Kettering General Hospital. Two 14-metre flue stack sections, weighing a combined 21 tonnes, now stand 40 metres above the new energy centre, visible for miles around. Getting them into place took serious planning from our King & Moffatt team and supply chain, who also lifted two large ASHPs, a PV system, condenser units, boilers and prefabricated modules all within a live hospital environment over just four days.

This achievement goes a long way to achieving the energy resilience and net zero targets for the hospital, while preparing for exciting future developments on the site that will serve the community for years to come.

We’re also grateful to Ian Allen and the Trust team, and to James Price and everyone at IHP, for their support throughout. Collaboration like this is what keeps a live hospital project moving.

Great team effort on a fantastic project.
