King & Moffatt delivered the Mechanical and Electrical installation on the new Lidl Luton Regional Distribution Centre.
The Lidl Luton project is one of King & Moffatt’s largest projects to date and is the biggest Lidl warehouse in the world at 120,700m2. To help understand the sheer size of this project, the building is the same size as 33 football pitches.
The building consists of a mix of temperature cold rooms, ambient racking storage, 5,000m2 freezer, 16,000m2 MHE mezzanine and 7m deep 14,000m2 basement which houses a 35m high clad rack storage solution integrated with MHE systems, giving an 80,000 pallet storage capacity.
