King & Moffatt were responsible for the Mechanical and Electrical installation of Lidl’s new Regional Distribution Centre in Newbridge, Co. Kildare.
The building is a new 58,000m2 distribution centre constructed on the outskirts of Newbridge. The RDC has the capacity to serve Lidl’s network of 90 stores in the Leinster area.
The building is comprised of 20,000m² of temperature-controlled chambers, 30,000m² of ambient bulk storage, and high specification administration buildings adjoined to the main warehouse.
It is one of the most sustainable and energy efficient logistics centres in Europe with an A1 energy rating and meeting BREEAM Excellent standards in design and construction.
